Alan
P. Johnson |
Mr. Johnson is the
Director of Bands at South County Secondary School in
Fairfax County, VA. His teaching responsibilities
include the Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Concert Band,
Percussion Ensemble, Indoor Drumline and AP Music
Theory. In its first four years, South County was named
a VA Honor Band three times, and every ensemble has
received a superior rating. In 2008, Mr. Johnson was
South County Secondary School’s nominee for Fairfax
County’s Teacher of the Year Award.
Mr. Johnson holds a B.M. in Music Education from James
Madison University and is currently pursuing a Masters
in Music education from Shenandoah University. He is
also a former member of the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle
Corps. Additionally, Mr. Johnson writes drill and
arranges music for several marching bands and drumlines
in Virginia. He currently resides in Centreville, VA
with his wife Kimberly and his two children Ryan and
Emily. |

| Tracy Magwire
|
Tracy
Magwire is the Director of Jazz and Middle School Bands
at South County Secondary School. Her teaching
responsibilities include the Marching Band, Stallion
Jazz, 3 O’clock Jazz, 4 O’clock Jazz, Intermediate and
Advanced bands, and the middle school Percussion
Ensemble. South County Middle School bands have
consistently received Superior ratings at District
Festival and many students from both the jazz and middle
school bands have represented South County in the All
District and All District Jazz Bands.
Tracy graduated from George Mason University magna cum
laude with a B.M. in Music Education. In addition to
working with all of the South County Bands, Tracy serves
her church youth group as a Senior High Advisor. She
resides in Chantilly, VA with her husband, Jonathan,
soon-to-be son, and menagerie of pets.
